Our Story

The story of our award-winning engineering business began back in 1998 with our founder Matt Lloyd initially designing and manufacturing agricultural equipment.

A personal building project and lack of suitable machinery on the market led to Matt developing the first rotary screening bucket with quick change drum system in 2002. The next innovation was the first screening bucket with conical drum.

In 2007 Matt designed the Rotastar™ screening bucket - the first screening bucket in the world using polyurethane stars. The Rotastar™ range of models was developed and now has an exceptional global following. The current design is still recognisable from the original concept: straightforward with sensible engineering, combining all the necessary features to create an outstanding product.

The innovative design of the split-collar, this unique component has made changing fraction size quick and easy for all Rotastar™ users

M Lloyd Engineering Ltd with it’s dedicated workforce has made massive investments in technology, machinery, premises, training and research. Development is continuous across all aspects of the business.

Company sales have grown constantly and as well as UK customers, Rotastar and StarTer screening buckets are exported to over 30 countries worldwide through our network of dealers and distributors.

In 2021 we were only one of 205 organisations nationally to receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade. This prestigious accolade is awarded in recognition of our excellence in international trade and reflects our commitment to the product, market and customers.
